Look At My Face!

Hey, I've got a new headshot. Thanks goes out to Neil Reynolds for Neil Reynolds-ing the shit out of it.
In other news, Super Smash Brothers Brawl was released this week, and I have it in my possession. As a result, all plans for productivity are now a distant memory. See you guys in 13 months or so.

6 of 10
On my way into work this morning I realized that I only managed to clip 6 out of 10 of my finger nails. That's about where my life is at right now...

Pressure
I'm on the verge of heading out the door to go to NYC for the
Del Close Marathon. I'm giddy about that, but I also feel a whole lot of pressure right now. Tough to pick what the cause is, it could be a combination of things - the show tonight, lack of sleep, work, wedding prep, or a bunch of written comedy projects that I'm far behind on.
Here is to hoping that this is either a weekend that allows me to make headway on some of those things, or at the least a good fun weekend that lets me reset the clock.
Probably more to come in this space as the weekend continues. Be sure to
check my twitter as well.

The Non-Comedy Challenge
It is late at night and I'm waiting around for some video to render, so I am going to challenge myself to talk about three things that aren't related to comedy, improv, or improv comedy.
1.) I couldn't give two craps about Don Imus. Screw that guy. I also think that there are bigger racists in the world to worry about though.
2.) Brian Perry trivia fact - I can only be productive if my surroundings are clean and well organized.
3.) Guitar Hero is probably the greatest thing in the world right now.
Bonus: I wish candy wasn't bad for your teeth. I'd eat it all the time.
Since I met my goal, I will add that I was really happy about my IA house team show tonight. I had a good show personally, but I thought my team came together extremely well. You would never guess that we have only been together for three shows and three rehearsals.

Blog Looks Different
Hey, my blog looks different. The layout still needs some tweaking, but we are getting there...
First IA house team show tomorrow - that should be interesting.

Sickness, Recovery, and Crazy Sundays
After a season where I was unusually healthy, I finally got hit with a monster cold. Felt it coming on Saturday (but drank anyway), pushed through it Sunday, was destroyed Monday (couldn't keep my eyes open), was at 30% Tuesday (couldn't think), and was on the road to recovery Wednesday. Today was the first day where I felt close to 100% - it was awesome. Think about what it is like that first day when you know you aren't sick anymore... Right - awesome.
I got my car back, but I suppose I didn't tell old bloggy that it was even gone. Maybe some other time.
After a scheduling switch I now have a Sunday that is insane - I now improvise all day. Class: 11-1, Rehearsal 1: 2-4, Rehearsal 2: 4-7, Rehearsal 3: 7-9.
I'm doing this thing now called Twitter.

Reasons I'm Glad I Moved To Mass
In general, tonight was a nice night (following a pretty nice day and a decent night last night). I was reminded at various times that I was glad to have moved to MA. Here are some of those reasons:
* After the completion of my Improv Asylum level 3 class, I went to grab a quick drink with everyone in class. We only had to walk a block.
* People were talking about going to a bar down the street to do an open mic.
* I ran into one of my Improv Asylum instructors on the T and had a decent conversation.
* All of the above was happening on a Monday night.
* It was nice taking the T in the snow (and not having to drive inro boston).
* I did a sketch show last night.
Well, I guess I didn't make a very good case there. I also got some proof headshots back - and I like how they turned out. Take my word for it, I'm enjoying MA (including work, not considering the fact that I have to wake up tomorrow morning).
I still owe some recap on few good shows I had recently - Miami and Hot Dog Quailty. Maybe tomorrow. No one is reading this anyway...

Mondays Are Crazy
So I'm waiting for the T today and this lady starts talking to me:
Lady: "I think we just missed it."
Brian: "That's too bad."
[Brian takes out cell phone to check email and hopefully end conversation]
Lady: "I knew the second I saw you that you were an asshole"
Nice! She also accused me of being a rebublican and supporting free market economy. I think she -may- have been crazy.
I know I didn't write about Miami yet. I will, it was pretty great.

New Blog, Warmer Cimates
That's right, I've made the completely unnecessary step of getting back into the blogging world. I'm heading back to the Miami Improv Festival with Unexpected Company (technically just Sarah and Jim of UC) this week/weekend so it seemed like a good time to get the ball rolling again. I'm in Hotlanta right now waiting for our connecting flight to Miami. I'm getting loose and things are shaping up, which is good because I was a total mess this morning for some reason.
Some people (admittedly very, very few people) may be wondering why I'm writing on my own personal blog and not the UC blog. The reason is multi-fold. Some are site related - the UC site needs a major overhaul and will probably be blogless for a little while, and few people in the cast really participated anyway. Others are Brian related - I'm starting to dip my toes in a whole bunch of non-UC comedy projects in the Boston area. I'd love to have the option to write about them, and the UC site isn't the right place to do it. Plus, I'm launching my own personal site and everyone has to have a bog in this Web 2.0 world...
Flight is boarding. Peace out Hotlanta. More later.
